![]() ![]() We started at the Manderlay Bar of the fictitious McKittrick hotel and after an hour entered the space wearing Venetian masks to keep the audience apart from the actors. ![]() It’s exhilarating and fun but not for the faint of heart. Sleep No More is an immersive theater experience where participants walk through dark hallways and dimly lit rooms to explore the space, view interpretative dance, and engage with actors in a “play” loosely modeled after MacBeth. Take some candy from the candy room Don’t miss the strobe scene Make sure you visit every floor. Find a character and follow them for a while. Wear as little as possible! Have a drink before you go in to loosen your inhibitions Split up from your partner or group and go solo. Make sure you are in the banqueting Hall 15mins before the performance ends as this is where all the action is. This is not an experience for the faint hearted as there are some dark and eerie rooms and numerous naked bodies cavorting right in front of guests! My advice is to wear as little as possible as it gets very hot and make sure you wear sneakers as there is lots of walking, or running if you want to keep up with a specific character. The theme is based loosely on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, very loosely! The actors are incredible and weave their way through guests as though they aren’t there as they flit from room to room, up and down stairs. From the very start as you walk down the pitch black entrance corridor you know you are in for something special. After a drink in the hectic bar area, guests are given masks to wear and ushered into the hotel where they have the freedom to roam and explore. Though its lush green space has existed for more than 150 years, Bryant Park was a revitalization project of the 1990s that made it a sanctuary for locals and tourists alike.Sleep No More at the McKittrick ‘hotel’ in New York is an incredible evening of theatre, dance, drama and sex!! First of all the venue isn’t a hotel but an old warehouse alongside the High Line in Manhattan with the most incredible sets to make it look like a hotel. Sprawling across nearly 10 acres, Bryant Park sits just south of Times Square – though it feels a world away. Tours are offered daily at multiple times starting at 9:30 a.m. The tour concludes with a meet-and-greet with a Radio City Rockette. You'll also an enjoy an in-depth history lesson about the stage and its iconic art deco design. The guided tour includes stops at areas of the historic venue not typically seen by the public, such as Radio City’s secret apartment, The Roxy Suite. ![]() If you're not able to attend a performance, consider signing up for the hourlong Radio City Stage Door Tour. According to recent visitors who attended a show, there's not a bad seat in the house. If you're in town any dates between November and January, consider attending the famous Radio City Christmas Spectacular, which stars the Rockettes. ![]() Today, the theater welcomes musical performers like Ben Platt and Lil Nas X, as well as comedians like Chris Rock. Opened in 1932, the theater is a New York City Landmark. It's where Ella Fitzgerald pined for the man she loved, the Rolling Stones couldn't get no satisfaction and Lady Gaga had a "Bad Romance." Among performers, there's no New York concert venue that's quite like Radio City Music Hall. Not only is it the largest indoor theater in the world, its marquee spans a full city block. Travelers call the train station "iconic" and say it's a beautiful space to walk through or to grab a meal and people-watch. If you want a train-themed souvenir, visit The New York Transit Museum Store in the shuttle passage. As mentioned, there are also plenty of shopping options, though most travelers suggest you leave most of Grand Central's pricey merchandise in the store. Food options range from the upscale (Cipriani Dolci and The Campbell Bar) to the legendary (the Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant) to the fast and easy (Shake Shack). Other must-sees include the Information Booth clock, the Whispering Gallery and Grand Central Market, a European-style food market that sells produce, gourmet ingredients and treats. Inside the celebrated main concourse, you're treated to glimmering marble floors, gold and nickel-plated chandeliers and a sky-themed ceiling. Before you enter, be sure to snap a few shots of the exterior's ornate beaux-arts neoclassical architecture. At this beautiful train station, you can eat some lunch or shop till you drop, but recent travelers most enjoyed just taking in the scenery. ![]()
